I know this is a slightly odd question but I'm going to Tokyo in late January. IN that Boroichi photo the tea man has tea canisters lying around? Does tea typically come in tea canisters? One of the many things I will be buying.

Yeah! If it's loose leaf tea, I think it usually comes in canisters. :D At home, I've seen my host mom with a few different ones too....
(I'm not sure if you wanted to go to the Boroichi, but if you did, it will be held on January 15th and 16th in Setagaya)
